Our rule of thumb for diaper changes
Once you have your schedule set as we spoke about before with changing your adult diaper you will more than likely find that a change is necessary every three hours in most cases. Times between changes can vary depending on your needs and situation but for maximum freshness and making sure you are avoiding leakage it is recommended you keep in mind that 3-6 hours between changes is generally the best practice for a scheduled adult diaper wearer. Of course, if you lead an active lifestyle and are taking in lots of fluids you will need to monitor closely the time it usually takes in between changes to be prepared. In addition to active lifestyles, your social engagements like taking coffee with a friend or frequenting your local bar may change the recommended hour change so it is important to always have an idea where your day may take you when you first put on your adult diaper in the morning for ideal preparedness.
Getting into a cycle of adult diaper changing awareness should not take you very long. If you have a wake up, have a cup of coffee or tea and some juice for breakfast and then head off to work a mid-morning change would probably be sufficient and tide you over until after lunch. In the afternoon or evening you may need an extra supply of adult diapers handy if you go out for a drink with coworkers or have a glass of wine in the garden. If you are working in an office or drive a lot during the day, you probably hydrate yourself continuously throughout the day or have more than one or two cups of coffee. It is recommended that you first measure how many times you encounter wetness and adjust your supplies accordingly. It also may be a good idea to limit the amount of sodas, coffees or alcoholic beverages if you find yourself going through too many adult diapers in one day. You will most likely know the moment that is right for a change.
Most adult diapers which are disposable will hold liquid but not for very long. You will not want to gamble on missing an opportunity to change if you feel wetness as it may be possible to start leaking over time. If you are using disposable adult diapers, we definitely recommend checking it every three or four hours for wetness, just to be on the safe side. It is important, therefore, to realize where your brand of adult diapers lays on the “performance” side of the spectrum. If you are purchasing a premium type adult diaper you may find yourself not having to change as often. The premium adult diapers may have better elasticity and hold liquids more that a cheaper diaper which will limit the amount of times you may have to change yourself during the day. If you go for a cheaper, more economical type of adult diaper you will be saving money but you will have to monitor the amount of wetness that takes place during the day, monitor your liquid intake and make sure you are always prepared with a fresh supply of reinforcements every three to four hours for changing purposes.
